Wine DownTown Offers a Taste of Lake Wales This Thursday

A tasty tour of nearly two dozen downtown Lake Wales businesses will be featured this Thursday, April 10 as Lake Wales Main Street presents their 6th annual Wine DownTown.

Food samples from several downtown restaurants, including Melanie's Seafood Company, Mimi's Bakery, Cocoa Cakes Studio, The Thirsty Dragon, and The Peach and Pepper will be offered at each of the participating businesses.

The food samples will be accompanied by free samples of fine wines and craft beers from The Thirsty Dragon. Some 14 different wines and three craft beer varieties will be offered at different locations around the downtown area.

"The event is always sold out," said Main Street representative Ronni Wood. "Last year we served 350 guests."

The event runs from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to park in the city parking on the east side of Scenic Highway and make their way to the "mural parking lot" at the corner of Scenic and Stuart Avenue, where they may check in. Guests will receive a free tote, a map of participating merchants, a tasting glass and a wristband that entitles them to the samples offered throughout the area.

Tickets are $25 for an individual, or $20 each for two or more, and are available online.
