Lawrence Ray Mylan, Jr., 1941-2025

Lawrence Ray Mylan, Jr., 83, passed away Sunday, March 2,2025 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice center in Wilmington, NC. He was born May 1,1941 in Brownsville, PA a son of the late Lawrence Ray Mylan, Sr. and Jean Hawkins Campbell.

A Celebration of Life will be held March 16,2025 at 3:00pm at Midway Methodist Church in Stella with Reverend Jim Stephens officiating.

Ray faithfully served his country in the US Navy and then began a career in public service as a police officer in Greensboro, NC retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. After his retirement he began serving the Guilford County Sheriffs office as a bailiff. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Moser Mylan of the home; daughters, Jade Mylan Sandow of Swansboro and Sage Mylan of Stella; and grandchildren, Robert Machanic, Mark Machanic, and Cameron Sandow.

He was preceded in death by father and stepmother, Lawrence R. Mylan, Sr. and Evaline Mylan and his mother and stepfather, Jean Campbell and Tip Campbell; and granddaughter in law, Nicole Machanic.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane society of the Piedmont, 4527 W Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC 27409.
