Students Invited to Apply for Scholarships Before March 7 Deadline

Certain Florida college students still have time to apply for one of three $1,200 scholarships to be awarded by the Florida Supervisors of Elections to Florida college students in 2025. Interested students should contact the Supervisor of Elections in their county of residence to request an application packet.

Graduation may be a bit closer for three Polk students who will win scholarships in a state-wide program

Polk County Supervisor of Elections Melony Bell reminded applicants that they must:

    • Be registered to vote in the State of Florida;

    • Enrolled or accepted as a full-time student in a senior college or university in Florida;

    • Majoring in Political Science, Public or Business Administration, Journalism or Mass Communications;

    • Have maintained a grade of at least a "C" average for the previous year;

    • Have demonstrated financial need and be able to provide a financial statement;

    • Make themselves available for an interview in the county where they are registered to vote.

    The deadline to return the scholarship application, which includes two letters of recommendation, is March 7, 2025.
