Billie Jo Worsham Whidden, 1944-2024

Billie Jo Worsham Whidden, 80, keeper of family lore and devoted mother, and grandmother, passed away on February 12th 2025 surrounded by her children. Born on 19 December 1944, in Tampa, Florida, she made it her life's mission to preserve and share her family's rich history.

Her passion for genealogy led her to embrace the Worsham and Hough family history. She also actively participated in the Daughter's of the American Revolution chapter in Lake Wales. As an educator for 35 years, Billie Jo fostered a love of reading in the children of Polk County, Florida.

Billie Jo is survived by her two daughters, Sarah and Sue, and her grandchildren, Adam, Aurora, and Ava. A celebration of Billie Jo's life will be held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 201 Kipling Lane, Winter Haven, FL 33884 on Monday 17 February at 11 a.m..

In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made to the Guide Dog Program at Guiding Eyes for the Blind in New York and Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Winter Haven Florida.
