Communication Builds Our Community
John Crowley's "We Live in Time" is a beautiful romantic drama starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh. The film follows the intertwined lives of Almut, a talented chef, and Tobias, a divorced executive, as they navigate the complexities of love, family, and the passage of time.
Garfield and Pugh deliver exceptional performances, their relationship is fun. Their early encounters ar filled with budding romance, shared laughter, and the hot love scenes are undeniably captivating. This alone is worth the price of admission.
The story was written by Nick Payne, but the film is non-linear in its storytelling, switching back and forth through time. This was confusing and disrupted the emotional flow. It made me less invested in the characters' journey. That made the intended heart-wrenching conclusion falls slightly short of its mark.
Ultimately, We Live in Time is a bittersweet exploration of love and loss. The film's central message seems to remind us about prioritizing relationships over personal ambitions. This point as usual was directed more at her than him and that tends to irritate me.
While it may not be a perfect cinematic experience, the romance is enjoyable.
