Veterans Invited to Receive Free Passport Photos During November

In honor of Veterans Day, veterans and active-duty military personnel are being offered free passport photos during November. The fee for a passport photo at the Clerk's office is normally $15. To be eligible, veterans and active-duty personnel must present their DD-214, military ID, or have a veteran designation on their driver's license.

Passport photos and applications are available at all three locations in Bartow, Lakeland, and the Northeast Government Center in Lake Alfred. according to Polk County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller Stacy Butterfield.

"Veterans Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women," Butterfield stated. "Offering free passport photos this November is one way we can show our gratitude and provide a helpful service to those who have given so much for our country. We are honored to support our veterans and active-duty personnel in this small way."

For more information about passport applications, visit http://www.PolkCountyClerk.net. The office also has a passport application how-to guide and preparation checklist on its website. Completion of the checklist helps customers ensure they have all of the documentation needed for the application process, which will hopefully help them avoid additional office visits.
