Mark and Marguerite Costanzo, left, presented a check for $175,000 to initiate a scholarship fund for students graduating from Venice High School to attend Webber International University. Webber's President/CEO Dr. Nelson Marquez was delighted to receive the contribution, which he said will shape the futures of Webber students.

The new scholarship fund will provide scholarships for graduating seniors from Venice (FL) High School, where Costanza graduated.

A volleyball match on September 11 was preceded by a small reception for Jessica's former teammates, family, and professors, followed by a check presentation. Costanza's parents, Mark and Marguerite Costanzo, presented the university with a check for $175,000 in honor of their only daughter.

The ceremony took place before the Women Warriors' match against their rivals, Warner University. The two universities on opposite sides of Crooked Lake.

"This event is more than just galvanizing Jessica Costanzo's name on the floor of Webber's athletic gym," said Webber's President/CEO Dr. Nelson Marquez. "It is galvanizing Jessica and her memory, as well as her family's legacy in Webber's history."

"Jessica lived a "Life of Purpose," and now her legacy will be preserved in the gym where she once competed as a member of the Warriors volleyball team. She played as a Defensive Specialist, helping lead the team to an 18-12 record during her senior season," Dr. Marquez told the audience. "Starting this season, the Warriors will compete on the newly named Jessica Costanzo Court in the Sabbagh Athletic Center."
