Communication Builds Our Community

Walgreen's Offering Free Flu Shots This Friday

Walgreens is offering free flu vouchers for uninsured patients on Friday, Sept. 20 at all Florida and Puerto Rico Walgreens locations. This is part of a broader effort by Walgreens to help ensure underserved and at-risk communities stay safe from respiratory illnesses while improving awareness, access and equity to vaccines. Walgreens offers 200,000 flu vouchers annually to provide free flu immunizations for medically underserved populations that need them most.

Black and Hispanic communities experience higher rates of severe flu illness due to decreased vaccination rates and other socioeconomic factors, so it's especially important

for these communities to get recommended vaccines.1,2

Approximately half of Walgreens stores are located within underserved communities. Providing equitable access to vaccinations, testing and treatment is another way we're providing

accessible care for our patients and protecting communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Our pharmacists are highly trained and trusted healthcare providers who are ready to help patients navigate any questions prior to receiving a flu vaccine. REsidents may schedule appointments online or walk-ins are welcome. Patients are encouraged to use the Walgreens store locator to find the pharmacy closest to them and access the location's hours.

Individuals ages 3 years and older can receive a flu shot. For younger children, please see your pediatrician.
