Friday Night Event will Precede Pioneer Days Festival
The Lake Wales History Museum will add a new kick-off feature to the popular annual Pioneer Days festival in October by hosting "Beers with Pioneers: A Fun Evening of Craft Beer and Local Heritage."
Described as "a one-of-a-kind event," the fundraiser will take place on Friday, October 25th beginning at 6 p.m. A $20 ticket allows each adult participant to sample a wide variety of craft beers, according to Museum Director Angela Rosado. The tasting will run until 9 p.m.
"This is your chance to raise a glass to our amazing local history while savoring some of the best craft beers our area has to offer," Rosado said. Beyond the craft beers, guests will have the opportunity to sample delicious snacks from local restaurants. A selection of wines will also be available to those who prefer it.
The two-day Pioneer Days festival, which runs Saturday and Sunday, October 26 and 27, features a wide variety of exhibits and entertainment, typically drawing thousands of visitors and area residents to the shores of Lake Wales.
The Beers with Pioneers event will begin Friday evening at the History Museum where guests will retrieve a wristband, a commemorative tasting glass, and a handy virtual map to help navigate various local spots in downtown Lake Wales where they can sip on the variety of craft beers.
The event will coincide with Lake Wales Live, so there will be musical entertainment on the streets of the downtown area.
