Betty Jean Russell (Ouellette), affectionately known as Bett, passed away on July 18, 2024, at the age of 61 after a prolonged battle with cancer at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale Florida. Born September 10, 1962 in Presque Isle, Maine, she devoted her life to the well being of others, both personally and professionally,
Bett dedicated her career to helping those in need as a Certified Behavioral Health Technician and Licensed Agency Food Manager at Tri County Human Services in Bartow, Florida. Her compassion and commitment to her work were evident in her daily interactions and the positive impact she made on her community.
Outside of her professional life, Bett was a lover of the outdoors. She found joy in crocheting, camping and engaging in various activities with her beloved grandchildren. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious, and she cherished every moment spent with her family.
Betts life was marked by her love for her family. She was preceded in death by her mother Martine Cyr, father Bernard Ouellette and sister Linda Kummer.
She is survived by her husband, Derek Russell, Sons Corey Skinner and wife Ivonne, Cody Skinner and wife Samantha. Stepdaughter, Jessie McKee McElroy and husband Michael; grandchildren, Alexandreia, Attamus, Eagan, Connor and Riley; mother-in-law Gloria; sisters-in-law Sherry Carrier and Kim Flewelling and their respective families; sisters Mary Haines, Mona Kozloff and Ann Kelley; nieces Dodi, Sandy, Shelley, Erin, Lindsey, Nephews Robert and, Byron and many great nieces and nephews.
Betts legacy of love, dedication and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. Her zest for life and the beautiful memories created with her will continue to inspire her family and friends.
