Communication Builds Our Community
A major and much-needed street resurfacing project is underway in Indian Lake Estates. The project will address nearly two miles of streets in the area.
The paving project will involve milling. Remixing and relaying the top surfaces of many of the streets. Included in the project are a portion of Ponce de Leon Avenue, and the circle providing access to Lake Wales-in-the-Water and the community pier.
Other streets that will receive new surfaces include portions of Toronja Drive, Lakeview Drive, Lantana Drive, and Arborea Drive.
Officials of the homeowners' association in the vast development are requesting that motorists avoid the streets being worked on to avoid getting a sticky tar-like residue stuck to their vehicles. Other issues that may be encountered during the project include dust and noise.
Residents are asked to keep streets free of parked vehicles between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day and keep vehicles at least five feet from the edge of the pavement. Keeping the street dry for the paving process is also important. Any sprinklers that strike otherwise dry areas will delay the paving process.
Questions about the project or process should be directed to the administrative offices of Indian Lake Estates.
