Communication Builds Our Community
A series of "Back to School Bashes" sponsored by the Polk County Sheriff's Office will offer essential school supplies to thousands of children across Polk County, including those in the Southeast District.
This community-focused event aims to support local students by providing essential school supplies and book bags as they prepare for the upcoming academic year. All the supplies were donated through private donors and Polk Sheriff's Charities, Inc.
The local event will take place at the Eagle Ridge Mall on Saturday, July 13, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office invites all parents and guardians to bring their school-aged children. During the event, children must be present to receive school supplies.
According to Sheriff's office media spokesperson Meghan Petty, "the initiative underscores the Polk County Sheriff's Office's commitment to fostering a supportive and thriving community by ensuring that every student is equipped with the necessary tools for success."
"The Back to School Bash is one of our favorite annual events," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community and help our young residents start the school year on a positive note.
"This year we are hosting it at each of our patrol districts, so everyone can better familiarize themselves with where the deputies who serve you are assigned," Judd added.
