Communication Builds Our Community
The June Business Expo luncheon hosted by the Frostproof Chamber of Commerce drew a crowd of local businesspeople Tuesday to network, sharing camaraderie and ideas.
More than 20 organizations were represented at the event, organized by the Chamber's new executive director Emily Bennett, who introduced each business to the crowd. Business representatives were then given an opportunity to speak at the event, offering a chance to introduce their product or services to others in attendance. Some quickly became customers of other local businesses.
The event was held at the historic Ramon Theatre on Wall Street. The Spanish revival building, built to host vaudeville performances, is a symbol of the town, and will celebrate its centennial next year.
The expo offered free table space on the gently-sloping to allow area businesses to be represented and share information, along with a box lunch catered by The Roost at Four Seasons. Many of those attending offered drawings of door prizes or special deals to other members.
According to Bennett, the events will become regular monthly events again after taking a break during the summer.
Any business owner interested in participating is encouraged to contact Bennett at the Frostproof Chamber of Commerce, either through the Chamber website or by calling her at 863-241-8796.
