Evelyn Katherine Furry, 1932-2024

Evelyn Katherine Furry of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Forsythe Hospice House. She was born November 23, 1932 to the late Charles and Helen Green in Gamber, Maryland.

Evelyn was a cafeteria worker for the School System. She previously enjoyed bowling and often spent her time gardening and canning. Evelyn loved traveling, especially when it included camping or cruising. She loved to participate in activities at the Tower Lake Clubhouse like dancing. She was always looking for ways to make new friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Green; sisters, Ruth Perry and Margie Green; and brother, Charles Green, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, William Eugene Furry; daughters, Cynthia Yost and husband Vernon of Lake Wales, and Linda Gill and husband Eugene of Taneytown, Maryland; sister, Anna Mae Ott of Westminster, Maryland; brothers, Richard Green and wife Marge of Maryland, and Aaron Green and wife Ruth of Smallwood, Maryland; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Tower Lakes Chapel at a later time.
