Ridge Brass to Offer Free Patriotic Memorial Day Concert At Lake Wales Arts Center

The Ridge Brass was formerly known as the Lake Wales Brass Ensemble.

A free patriotic concert on Memorial Day weekend will be offered to the public to mark the Memorial Day weekend. The Ridge Brass will offer "many familiar standbys of American music that will stir hearts to renewed love of our great country," said Arts Council spokesperson Carrie Ingley.

The Ridge Brass was formerly known as the Lake Wales Brass Ensemble, and is familiar to many music-lovers in the area, having accompanied the Lake Wales Chorale at many past performances. Sponsored for years by the Lake Wales Arts Council, Ridge Brass is now a 15-member large brass ensemble under the direction of Bryan Johnson. For this concert, the sounds of brass will be accompanied by Jonathan Reed on grand piano and Darryl Johnson on percussion

The concert will take place on Friday, May 24 at 7 p.m. at the beautiful Updike Hall of the Lake Wales Arts Center, with a wine and cheese reception to follow.

The public is invited to sing along to fan-favorite tunes and have their patriotic spirits lifted by the inspiring music of America.
