Keep Polk County Beautiful Hosts Annual Volunteer Event, Open to Public

The public is invited to attend a Volunteer Appreciation and Silent Auction Fundraiser for Keep Polk County Beautiful, Inc. and the organization celebrates the past year's environmental and volunteer efforts throughout Polk County.

The annual event promises a fun filled night at Leland Young's Barn, a well-known location for private music and celebration events. It will be happening on Saturday, April 20th at 6 p.m. at the Barn, located at 2905 Central Avenue in Alturas.

Leland Young's Barn is filled with hundreds of fascinating artifacts collected by the late Young, and is a popular gathering place for county-wide organizations.

Organizers promise good music by Joey Foley, who will be joined by a "special guest."

Food trucks Umami Smoke and Tito's Latin Cuisine will serve at the event, which is sponsored by Bernie Little Distributors.

Keep Polk County Beautiful, Inc. is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, and is an affiliate of Keep Florida Beautiful, Inc. and Keep America Beautiful, Inc.

The organization "works with civic, business, government, educational and community groups across the county to improve the aesthetic and ecological value of our communities through litter control and prevention, beautification, waste reduction, recycling and proper handling and disposal of solid waste," according to their messaging.
