Elvia Alvarado Espinoza, 1977-2024

Elvia Alvarado Espinoza of Frostproof passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at her residence.

She was born July 13, 1977 in San Lucas, Michoacan, Mexico to Silvano an Herminia Alvarado. Elvia was a second-grade teacher for Ben Hill Griffin Elementary School where she loved teaching. She loved the town of Frostproof and was passionate about the needs of children.

Elvia was full of life and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Elvia truly enjoyed spending time with her family and was a light in everyone's life.

Elvia is survived by her three children, Marisol Longo (Ryan) of Fort Myers and Jose Espinoza (Cloe) of Frostproof; mother, Herminia Alvarado of South Carolina; father, Silvano Alvarado of Mississippi; sisters, Janet Valerio (Pascual) of Frostproof and Yadira Lopez (Edgar) of Lake Wales; brothers, Maximilliano Alvarado of Frostproof, Silvano Alvarado, Jr. (Sandra) of Mississippi, John Alvarado (Cassandra) of Eagle Lake, Tony Alvardo (Ana) of Mississippi, and Cesar Alvarado (Liza) of South Carolina; many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and grandchildren, Cayson, Luca, and Brielle.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor can be sent to East Coast Migrant Head Start Program (www.ecmhsp.org).
