Communication Builds Our Community
Show Will Run March 4 Through March 28
An upcoming exhibit at the Lake Wales Arts Center will feature the Solivita Artisan Guild. The Guild includes artisans and artists in the community located within Poinciana in northeast Polk County. Members will share their interests in a wide range of crafts and fine arts.
The special exhibit will open March 4 and include works of painting, drawing, jewelry, photography, sculpture and ceramics, tie-dye and batik, quilting and sewing created by members of the organization.
The juried exhibition will feature the original art of 32 of the Solivita Artisan Guild members and include all genres of art, including jewelry. Entries in the show were selected by an artist who is not a member of the Solivita Artisan Guild.
The Lake Wales Arts Center is located in a beautiful former Spanish-mission-style church at 1099 SR 60 East in Lake Wales, and is a popular venue for the arts, including musical performances. The center will host the Solivita exhibit through March 28.
Several members of the Solivita Artisan Guild are members of the Lake Wales Arts Council and frequently attend exhibits and concerts there. Lake Wales Arts Council Executive Director Tommy Frank agreed to offer the exhibition to the Lake Wales area public for the first time this year.
All artworks included in the exhibition will be available for purchase through the Lake Wales Arts Council. A portion of each sale stay in Lake Wales and will go to support the Arts Council's ongoing music and art projects and their educational programs in Lake Wales schools.
