Yarnell, Cohassett, Hillcrest Among Streets to Be Paved in Coming Days

City Paying $499,639.06 for the Work

As part of the city's ongoing effort to resurface streets in the city, contractors will begin paving operations on four city streets this week.

Crews will begin resurfacing portions of the select roadways starting February 27 as part of the pavement management program. The five-year program is funded at a level of $500,000 annually, but was suspended for one of the years of the program.

Yarnell Avenue, Frontage Road, Cohasset Avenue and Hillcrest Drive are included in this round of paving.The targeted streets were identified and prioritized several years ago to help address a backlog of needs. The current contract with Asphalt Paving Systems, inc. includes $499,639.06 worth of work on those streets, as well as Marietta Street between RR 60 and Campbell Avenue.

Each of the roadways will be treated and reshaped by crews from Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc. who will then mill and pave the roadways before the application of a new lift of asphalt.

The work is expected to cause minor delays or detours for motorist, and patience is requested

During work hours, limited access to roadways will be maintained and coordinated by the workers onsite directing traffic. During non-working hours, motorists will have full access to the roadways.
