Edna Ruth Griffin, 1941-2024

Edna Ruth Griffin, 84, wife of the late James Erwood Griffin, of Walhalla, SC, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at her home.

A native of Travelers Rest, SC, Mrs. Griffin was the daughter of the late Kay and Eloise Owens Hudson. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Granny. Ruth loved God and was a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church. She loved her flower gardens and working outside. Most of all, she loved caring for others.

She retired from Clemson University Custodial Department.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by her sons: Dallas Griffin (Julia), Randall Griffin (Rene) and Don Griffin (Ra); daughter: Robin Griffin; brother: Bennie Hudson; sister: Margaret Genco, Joyce Gibson (Les) and Eunice Whittamore; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her brothers: Eldon and Jerry Hudson; and sister: Irene Heddon.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, February 2, 2024, at Davenport Funeral Home.

A separate visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, February 9, 2024, at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales, FL with a graveside service at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Lake Wales Memorial Gardens.

Flowers are accepted.

The family is at their respective homes.
