Entertainment Intended to Help Draw Customers to Businesses During Street Reconstruction

Music and entertainment fans will welcome the news of a sensational series of free Friday night concerts that promise to infuse the community with camaraderie, live music, and entertainment. The series is planned for Orange Avenue in the heart of Downtown Lake Wales.

The new Friday Night Live series is a collaboration of the Lake Wales Arts Council with the City of Lake Wales and Lake Wales Main Street. The Arts Council "is delighted to unveil the much-anticipated Lake Wales Live spring events," said spokesperson Carrie Ingley.

"Lake Wales Live reflects our commitment to the Lake Wales Connected project and the promotion of a vibrant arts community in Central Florida," said Tommy Frank, Executive Director of the Lake Wales Arts Council, who expressed pride in contributing to an event that supports the downtown area and fosters community unity.

The lively monthly events will unfold on select Friday evenings from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Orange Avenue, between Market Street and Scenic Highway. A statement from the Arts Council promises Lake Wales Live will "inject new life into Downtown Lake Wales, creating vibrant Friday night atmospheres with a diverse lineup of musical acts, local food trucks, and a bustling vendor marketplace, all rallying behind the local businesses that define the downtown experience."

Ronni Wood, executive director of Lake Wales Main Street, called the events "an exciting addition to our thriving downtown, encapsulating our vision for an economically strong and diverse core in Lake Wales. We're thrilled to see our community come alive with this series."

"As the Lake Wales community collaborates to bring the transformative Lake Wales Connected designs to fruition, Lake Wales Live stands as a testament to resilience, creativity, and determination. These events offer a chance for unity, a celebration of downtown's heart, and unwavering support for local businesses amid ongoing transformation," the statement said.

Event sponsors include Duke Energy, Visit Central Florida, and the Florida Division of Arts & Culture.

The schedule of events includes:

• January 19: Groove with Black Eyed Soozie

• March 15: Experience the Magic with The Jam Band

• April 5: Enjoy the Sounds of B. Haven

• May 3: Jam with The Gnarbuckles

Fans are encouraged to invite friends by sharing links to the shows on their social media.

The concerts are intended to help draw customers and traffic to the downtown area during the ongoing street reconstruction project, which will continue to move eastward in phases along Park Avenue.

The redevelopment initiative is a pivotal component of the Lake Wales Connected design, marking multiple phases of the Park Avenue project's realization. The priority of the organizers remains to ensure continuous access to downtown businesses, despite possible traffic detours.

The City of Lake Wales "has worked diligently to minimize disruptions for downtown businesses and visitors," said city spokesperson Stephanie Edwards.

Jessica Garrett of The Ranch Taproom & Coffeehouse added that "Lake Wales Live is a fantastic initiative breathing life into our downtown during construction. We, as local business owners, are thrilled about these events and are ready to provide top-notch experiences for our patrons."
