Marilyn J. Cook Reid Noecker age 84 of Lake Wales Fla. died Dec. 22, 2023.
Born Sep 20, 1939, at the age of 84. Marilyn was born in Gowanda, NY. The daughter of Stanley G. Cook and Marion D. (Quinnan} Cook, Marilyn married David Reid of Gowanda in 1959. David went home to be with the Lord in May 2020. Marilyn then married Casimir (Paul) Noecker on Sep 10,2022.
Marilyn was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Gowanda and St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church in Winter Haven, Florida. Marilyn and her husband Paul resided in Lake Wales where they had many special and dear friends.
Marilyn Worked many different jobs through the years. She owned the Gowanda Liquor store and worked at Winsmith in Springville NY, she also sold nuts and bolts for Curtis Knowles. She worked and was a member of the Slovanian Club. She also worked for Knowles and Fisher, and she retired from the Gowanda Powerhouse at Gowanda Psychiatric Center. She volunteered at the library in Winter Haven.
Marilyn loved to sew. She made several quilts for her family members, and she belonged to many sewing clubs. She was an avid reader, always having 2-3 books at a time open and ready to jump into at any given time. She loved going on cruises and she traveled the world with her husband David by motorcycle. She loved doing crossword puzzles and playing cards with the neighbors in Lake Wakes. Marilyn was the family historian and she loved to cook many fancy meals. She loved her family and all of her friends. Marilyn had the ability to be a phenomenal storyteller, she could remember in detail things that happened in her life, family members lives and world happenings. Marilyn Belonged to the Chautauqua Kinzua H.O.G. Club
Surviving her is her husband Paul, daughter Rev. Karen M. Cleveland (Rick) of Cherry Creek NY, her son Morgan D. Reid (Denise) of Gowanda NY., daughter in-law Gerrie (Late Brian) Reid of Gowanda, step children Mary (Chris) Partridge of Delavan NY and Paul (Jennifer ) Noecker of Rome NY Grandchildren Matthew (Amanda) Eyring, Melinda (Jesse Montgomery) Lecceardone, Katelynn (John) Hines, Sara (Rob Colantino) Booth, Brittany (Garrett) Hirschman, Jackdaleth Montiel, Ethan (Christina) Reid, Jacob (Chelsea Renaldo) Reid, Michael Gentner .Marilyn is survived by 17 great grandchildren and many step grand and great grandchildren and a brother Michael (Donna) Cook of Collins NY. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. Besides Marilyn's mother and father she is preceded in death by her sons Brian and Kevin and stepdaughter Felicia.
A memorial service celebrating Marilyn's life will take place at a later date. Thanks to all for all the kind words and gestures so many have shown to the family. Arrangements are by the Schindler Funeral Home, 44 Center St., Gowanda NY.
