Nancy M. Hunt, 1932-2023

Nancy M. Hunt, 90, passed away peacefully Monday, November 13, 2023 surrounded by beloved family members.

Nancy was born December 30, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late William and Helen McClelland. In 1945, she moved to Jacksonville with her family. In 1952, after marrying the love of her life, Ellis, whom she met while attending the University of Florida, they moved to Lake Wales. She loved her role as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. Nancy felt blessed to have been able to raise her family in their beautiful home overlooking Lake Wailes. She was active in the community, supporting and volunteering for many organizations, including her church, local schools, scouting, the Woman's Club, the Garden Club and the Arts Council.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Liz Hunt; brother, Jerry McClelland; and grandson, Carson. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ellis Hunt, Sr .; sons Ellis Hunt, Jr. and wife Debbie of Babson Park, Deeley Hunt and husband Adam of Clearwater Beach; daughters Barbara Daines and husband Will of Tampa, Ginger Henry and husband Brad of Minneola and Helene Valdes and husband Chris of Orlando; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Nancy will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her family takes great comfort in knowing that she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and free of all earthly pain.

A celebration of life service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 3:00. There will be a reception immediately following in the Fellowship Hall. Memorial donations in Nancy's honor may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales.
