Walter D.Chaney Jr., 1942-2023

Walter D. Chaney Jr., 81, loving husband and father, passed away on November 19th,2023.

He is survived by his wife Susan L. Chaney, son Patrick, step daughter Diana, grandsons Darren, Trenton, and Landen, and granddaughters Keena, Kiera, and Paxtynn. He was born in Macon, Georgia on October 25, 1942, and was predeceased by his parents Walter Sr. and Elizabeth Chaney.

He was a graduate of Savannah Christian High School in Georgia where he played trumpet in the marching band. He attended Georgia Baptist College for inhalation therapy where he traveled abroad as an inhalation therapist to San Francisco, New York City, and Chicago.

Walt was an avid dancer and pool/billiard player. He was an accomplished 32nd Freemason.

He moved to Orlando, Florida in the early 70's and acquired licenses in life and health insurance. He later moved to Lake Wales where he conducted business and retired after 35 years of owning an insurance agency.

He met and married his beloved wife Susan in Florida, where they raised their son Patrick. Walt always enjoyed cracking jokes and watching his grandchildren play sports. He cheered on the Florida Gators football team and loved his old western and action movies. Walt now resides with our gracious heavenly father.

Walter,you will be greatly missed by all! "Rest in peace ole' man! "

A celebration of life is planned with extended family in the near future, where some of his ashes will be spread in the Savannah River , "at home."
