Thomas James "Tom" Hitchcock of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at his residence.
He was born January 18, 1952 in Buffalo, New York to the late Ray and Bettina Hitchcock. Tom moved from Buffalo, New York at the age of six with his family to Wilton Manors, Florida. He was the owner of Scots in Lauderdale by the Sea for many years. In 2016, Tom moved to Lake Ashton with his wife. While living in Lake Ashton, he worked security on the west side of the gate. He enjoyed camping, golfing, and boating and was an avid fisherman. He served in the of the United States Air Force Reserve and was a member of Saint Mathews Catholic Church.
Tom is survived by his wife of 18 years, Margaret Hitchcock; children, Lisa Diaz and husband Mikey of Margate, Joe Hitchcock of West Palm Beach, Megan Kelly and husband Ted of Boca Raton, and Colleen Lundrigan of San Luis Obispo, California; grandchildren, Haily, Chris, Adrianna, Aidan, Khloe, Alyssa, and Olivia; brother, David Hitchcock and wife Debbie of Plantation; sisters, Mary Jane Hitchcock Knott and husband Dave of Pollock, Louisiana, and Sue Hitchcock Courtney and husband Tom of Los Alamos, New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is being scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his honor to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (www.npcf.us).
