The cost of enjoying a day in the relaxing environment at Bok Tower Gardens may add a bit of unfortunate stress to budgets after the gardens announced that the their admission rates are rising once again.
Beginning October 1, adult general admission will be $20, while children ages 6-17 will get in for $10. Children 5 and under will continue to be admitted free.
Annual passes for individuals and families are available.
A statement issued by Bok Tower Gardens called the increases "a sustainability measure."
Admission for the historic home tour of El Retiro will be $10 for adults, $7 for members, and $5 for children ages 6-17.
Groups of 20 are eligible for a discounted rate of admission. The changes include updated general and El Retiro admission pricing and a new children's admission age range.
The historic gardens feature a 205-foot tall tower designed by the top architects and artisans of the day, constructed of marble and coquina, containing a 60-bell carillon widely considered to be the best such instrument in the world. The tower is the centerpiece of the famous gardens designed by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr.
Both the gardens and tower were dedicated in 1929 by then-President Calvin Coolidge before an audience of more than 50,000.
