Highly Anticipated Amazon Prime Movie Does Not Diappoint
Red, White & Royal Blue is a fun, silly, and heartwarming romantic comedy about the unlikely romance between Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the United States President, and Prince Henry of Wales.
The film is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Casey McQuiston. I have not read the best-selling book but now I fully intend to.
The film's two leads, Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine, are perfectly cast as Alex and Henry. Perez brings a lot of charisma and humor to the role of Alex, while Galitzine is charming and sympathetic as Henry. The two actors have great chemistry together, and they make the film's romance believable and enjoyable.
The supporting cast is also excellent, with Uma Thurman and others giving standout performances. Thurman is particularly hilarious as the President of the United States, and she steals every scene she's in. By the way Uma Thurman as President of the United States really does need to be a thing.
I am a huge anglophile and a big fan of the Royal family. It's interesting that in this movie somehow the Stuarts are now the ruling family instead of the Windsors. Most Americans might not know the difference though.
There are many unbelievable moments in the movie, some just way too fantastic, like Texas turning blue. The film does borrow heavily from current events, particularly the relationship between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The film uses these real-world events to explore themes of love, family, and duty.
Overall, Red, White & Royal Blue is a delightful film that is sure to please fans of romantic comedies. It's funny, heartwarming, and thought-provoking, and it features a cast of talented actors who bring the story to life. I highly recommend it.
The film's depiction of a gay romance between two young men who are also public figures is refreshing and groundbreaking. It's a reminder that love stories are powerful, no matter who you are or what your background is.
The film is a lot of fun, but it also has some serious moments such as whether or not Royal family fans will accept the Prince's relationship. If the British public can accept Queen Camilla after all of that scandal I am certain that a British Prince can have a open homosexual relationship and be accepted by the public.
The film's message about the importance of privacy for public figures is also timely and important. In an age of social media and constant surveillance, it's more important than ever to allow our favorite celebrities to enjoy their own personal lives.
If you're looking for a funny, sexy, and heartwarming romantic comedy, then I highly recommend Red, White & Royal Blue.
4 out of 5 stars.
