Movie Review: Rye Lane Streams on Hulu, Earns Four Stars

Film is Set in South London

The newest release from streaming service Hulu is Rye Lane, a fun and enjoyable romantic comedy that follows two youngsters reeling from bad break-ups who connect over a particularly eventful day in South London. The film is directed by Raine Allen Miller in her feature film debut, and stars David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah as Dom and Yas, respectively.

The film's strengths lie in its characters, its humor, and its setting. Dom and Yas are both relatable and likable characters, and their chemistry is undeniable. The film's humor is witty and cute, and the film's setting in South London is vibrant and colorful. Loved the tour through this part of London as I am enamored with things British.

The film is not without its flaws. The plot is somewhat predictable, and the film's ending is a bit rushed. However, these flaws are minor compared to the film's many strengths.

Overall, Rye Lane is a charming and heartwarming romantic comedy that is sure to please fans of the genre. Many of us are starving for new romantic comedies in the theaters these days.

The film is well-acted, well-directed, and well-written, and it features a great location. The film's soundtrack is fun featuring a mix of hip-hop, soul, and R&B. This is not normally my type of music but I enjoyed it.

The film's positive message about moving on from heartbreak is both heartwarming and uplifting.

I would recommend Rye Lane to fans of romantic comedies, as well as anyone who enjoys a good story with a touch of humor. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
