MOVIE REVIEW "Sisu" is Bloody Good Fun

Sisu is a 2023 Finnish action film directed by Jalmari Helander. I saw this movie as part of mystery movie night at Regal Cinemas.

The film stars Jorma Tommila as a solitary prospector who sets out to avenge the theft of his gold by a Nazi convoy during the final days of World War II.

The film is a non-stop, over-the-top action ride that is sure to please fans of the genre. Tommila is excellent as the grizzled and determined prospector, and the film's action sequences are some of the most brutal and bloody I've seen in a long time. It's also unbelievable how his character survives all the attempts to kill him.

The film is also completely unrealistic, which is part of its charm. There are no deep characters or complex plot twists here. Just a simple story of revenge told in a very entertaining way.

If you're looking for a good time at the movies, I highly recommend Sisu Especially if you might enjoy seeing Nazis die in all sorts of imaginative ways. The movie reminded me a bit of some Quentin Tarantino's films.

As noted this movie is very violent and bloody, so it may not be for everyone.

I also enjoyed some of the cinematography of Finland's Lapland wilderness.

Overall, I enjoyed Sisu. It was just fun.
