Scores of Top Artists Will Display Works Under the Oaks at Lake Wailes Park
Get ready to enjoy another beautiful spring weekend outdoors in Lake Wales as the Lake Wailes Arts Festival offers a special atmosphere for a pleasant day. Presented annually by the Lake Wales Arts Council, the critically acclaimed two-day Festival attracts thousands of art lovers each year, many of whom purchase original, one-of-a-kind works of art.
The show takes place Saturday and Sunday, February 25 and 26, under the shade of the Live Oaks on the shores of beautiful Lake Wailes. Scores of top-rated artists from around the world exhibit diverse works in hopes of winning some of the $17,000 in awards and prizes.
The event kicks off on Friday evening, February 24, with a traditional lakeside reception that includes a catered dinner and concert performances by Sticky Steve & the Pollinators followed by Hubo Bentley & Dim Crooked Fools. The catered dinner is sold out, but tickets to the concert are still available for $20.
The Arts Festival will feature visual arts of virtually every type, including paintings, sculpture, stained glass, multi-media, and more.
Artists will exhibit their best works in hopes of securing one of the many cash prizes, including Best of Show, a $4000 award. Others include Judge's Choice Exceptional Works, $2500, four Awards of Excellence ($1000 each) five Awards of Distinction ($500 each) and five Awards of Merit ($300 each).
Thousands of dollars in pledged purchase prize money is also available from patrons.
