Event Rescheduled for December 3
The Fall Curbside Cleanup scheduled for the City of Lake Wales residents on Saturday, October 8, has been postponed and rescheduled for early December.
Dealing with thousands of cubic yards of storm debris from fallen limbs and trees has taken precedence over the voluntary refuse that residents keep in their garages, backyards and attics.
The rescheduled event will provide a for the collection of furniture, old appliances, and similar junk. The free service takes place on December 3.
Place general junk at the street in front of your residence. Republic Services will pick up a variety of items, such as mattress/box springs, furniture, appliances and tires (without rims). Items must be at the curb before 6 a.m. on December 3 to allow city crews to assess the materials for arranging pickup.
DO NOT place hazardous waste items, such as paint, batteries, chemicals, motor oil, antifreeze or asbestos materials.
DO NOT place construction debris, such as fences and remodel materials.
DO NOT place food waste on the street.
DO NOT attempt to help the Curbside Cleanup crew.
