Belinda DuBose Hurst, 1956-2022

Belinda DuBose Hurst of Lake Wales, Florida claimed her eternal reward and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30th, 2022, after a valiant fight against brain cancer. God granted her an easy, peaceful transition home as she was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 8th, 1956, in Avon Park, Florida to the late James C. DuBose and Veronica L. DuBose. She grew up and graduated from Frostproof High School class of 1974. She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Florida College and her graduate degree from Warner University. She retired from the Polk County School system in 2015 after having touched the lives of many young children for 35 years. Belinda was a Native American and a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.

Belinda accepted Jesus at an early age and was a faithful Christian attending the Frostproof Church of Christ where she taught children's Bible classes for many years.

She is survived by her husband Jim of 43 years. Her son Jimmy (Emily) grandchildren Grace Louise, Jamesy and Jude Hurst. Her son Marshall. Her daughter Lindsey (Jeremy) grandchildren Everett and Ruby Shick.

She is survived by her sister Cathy (Clint), her twin sister Melinda (Freddy) and many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she dearly loved.

The family will receive friends on Monday at Ramon Theatre June 6, 2022. Visitation will be at 1;00 pm and services will be held at 2:00 pm at the Ramon Theatre in Frostproof with burial to follow at Silver Hill Cemetery. A reception will be back at the Ramon Theatre following the graveside service.
