Free "Date Night" Concert in the Park Friday

The public is invited to a free concert this Friday featuring covers of classic rock and roll, country, and classic pop songs by "I-4 North" at 7:30 pm in Library Park. That show will be preceded by an opportunity for Karaoke fans to practice their licks starting at 6:00. pm.

The family event will feature food trucks, including Retro Rush, and coffee and other beverages by Cuppa Joe on the Go. Beer and will will be available for donations, provided by Rotary on the Ridge. The evening of entertainment is presented by the City of Lake Wales Recreation Department.

"It's great for date nights, great for families," said City Recreation Lead Lessie Hall. "We will have eight concerts from September to April every year on the third Friday of every month. We try to keep it as local as possible, with bands primarily from within twenty or thirty miles of here."

Music genres vary monthly, and most months feature two bands. This Friday will open with local Karaoke stars performing classic hits. The park is located at 290 Cypress Gardens Lane, across for the Public Library in downtown Lake Wales.
