Lake Wales Resident Dies in Single Vehicle Crash

A single vehicle accident left a local man dead and mid-day traffic blocked Wednesday. Brett Lang, 548, was not wearing a seat belt when he lost control on southbound US 27 and hit a tree and light pole at the northwest corner of the signalized intersection. The location is across ABC Road from Oakley Transportation.

Lang was flown by helicopter to a hospital but died from his injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
