Spaghetti Dinner Will Ease This Week's Cooking Chores

A delicious spaghetti dinner with all the favorite sides is available for an easy take out meal on Thursday this week as the Woman's Club of Lake Wales offers its popular biannual fundraiser from 4:00 to 6:00 pm..

The expert cooks of the club invite you to enjoy a great home-made dinner of spaghetti with a choice of Bolognese or vegetarian Marinara sauce. They come packaged to go at a drive-through, and each meal includes a garden salad, toasted garlic bread and a delicious homemade dessert.

"Our sauces are all home-made, this is not a commercial pasta dinner," said event chair Susan Connors. "The members also make the pineapple upside-down cakes for the dessert." Advance purchase of tickets is strongly recommended as the club prepares the correct number of meals in advance. "Without a ticket we cannot guarantee that there will be meals available, but we have a 'will-call' option and can hold tickets at the door," she said. Tickets are available in advance from any Club member or by calling 863-632-1504.

"Part of the proceeds benefit the Woman's Club's $1,000 scholarship fund given each year to a graduating senior at Lake Wales High School," Connors added. The proceeds also support the Building Fund, which helps to maintain the 100-year old building owned by the Woman's Club of Lake Wales at 275 East Park Avenue. Meals may be picked up there between 4:00 and 6:00 pm.
