Mildred Browning of Lake Wales passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Advent Health Lake Wales under the care of Vitas Hospice.
She was born April 10, 1926 in Miami to the late Marvin and Zelma Towns; she has been a resident of Lake Wales most of her life. Mildred was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of New Harvest Worship Center and Harvest Time Church. Mildred lived for her children and was an awesome grandmother. She loved Jesus, going to church, and was a prayer warrior ministering through her love.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Alton L. Browning in 1992; and two brothers. She is survived by her children, daughters, Jean Fields (Roy) of Galena Park, Texas, Anne DeWald (George) Burnsville, North Carolina, Cheryl Walker of Lake Wales, and Karen Waters (Paul) of Lake Wales; sons, Horace Browning of Lake Wales, Marvin Browning (Linda) of Eagle Lake, and Kent Browning (Barbara) of Lake Wales; sister, Pansy Massey and children of Jacksonville; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor Roy Fields officiating.
