Richard Craig "Dick" Adamson, 1940-2021

Richard Craig "Dick" Adamson of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Palm Garden Winter Haven.

He was born January 11, 1940 in Middletown, Ohio. Dick was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a retired marketing director for CMP Dental. He was proud of his career in the Air Force, most of which was served in Germany and Washington D.C .; he was particularly honored when he received the General George S. Patton distinguished service award, awarded by the Army, but never before to an Airman. He loved his cats and was a car lover. Dick was a crew chief of Fonda racetrack in New York and was a volunteer with the Polk County Sheriffs Office. Dick and Nancy first met shortly after Nancy became a CPA and was assigned to audit his company. They were married on New Years Day of 1982. They visited Florida many times from the Adirondack mountains in New York, finally deciding to move to Lake Wales eight years ago. Dick enjoyed working with local security patrols. He was also a favorite patient of the Winter Haven nurses at Central Florida Cancer Institute.

Dick is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy Adamson.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor can be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
