Woodrow Tracy, Jr., 78 ,longtime resident of Indian Lake Estates, passed away on Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
He was born March 12, 1943 in Wheaton, MO to the late Woodrow and Sylvia Tracy; he moved to Indian Lake Estates from Arkansas in 1999 after his retirement.
He started in magazine route sales and over the next 30 years worked his way up to regional sales manager for a book publisher. He met a lot of authors, shook a lot of hands and made many lifelong friends whom he considered family.
His home was always open to friends and family members. If you needed a meal or a place to be surrounded by love, you could count on his generosity.
He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and playing golf. He was good with his hands and could fix anything. He had a green thumb and could usually be found outside in his yard.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Alfretta Tracy; four daughters, Lisa Reeder (Steve), Kim Jacobus (Brian), Jamie Pendergraft (Doug), Jeannie Corp (Terry); ten grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, Sean, Brian, Austin, Ashton, Alex, Calvin, Quinn and Harrison; one great-granddaughter, Kathryn; and countless family and friends.
He will be interred at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, MO Saturday September 4th with celebration of life to follow directly after at Hammons Community Center in Fairview at 3p.m., masks required.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.
Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales is handling local arrangements.
