Communication Builds Our Community
The Lake Wales Public Library, in partnership with the Polk County History Center, will offer a series of three Genealogy Workshops.
The workshops will be led by the Polk County Historical & Genealogical Library's Research and Genealogy Historian, Preston Petermeier. Preston has instituted an excellent series of workshops for the Polk County History Center. He's bringing his expertise to our library for these informative sessions.
The series begins, at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, with an exploration of Census Records in genealogy research. The second session begins at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 15. Mr. Petermeier will discuss the value of family Bibles in genealogical research during the July session. The third and final workshop in this series begins at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 25 with a discussion of City Directories in genealogical research.
The workshops are free, but registration is required. You may register for all three workshops, or the ones of interest. To register call 863-678-4004, ext. 221, or visit the Lake Wales Public Library's main desk. These face-to-face classes are limited to 12 registered participants.
This series is sponsored by the Lake Wales Library Association and Florida's Natural Growers Foundation. For details call 863-678-4004 or email [email protected].
