Communication Builds Our Community
The four people vying for two Lake Wales City Commission seats will participate in a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Monday, March 1.
Co-sponsored by Rotary on the Ridge and LakeWalesNews.net, the forum will be held at the Ouellette Law Firm meeting room at 151 E. Central Ave. To ensure social distancing, in-person participation will be restricted. The program will be broadcast on Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/RotaryontheRidge and a video will be produced by LaVaughn Williamson of Williamson Photography to be posted on You Tube.
Candidates on the April 6 municipal election ballot include Dr. Ricardo Navarro and Pastor Daniel Williams for Seat 2 and incumbent Al Goldstein and challenger Kris Fitzgerald for Seat 4. The race is nonpartisan and the winner will be sworn in May 4 for a 3-year term.
The forum will be moderated by Brandon Alvarado. Each candidate will be offered the opportunity to make a 3-minute opening statement and a 2-minute closing. Questions will be chosen from those submitted in advance by Feb. 26 at https://tinyurl.com/LakeWales2021. Candidates will have 90 seconds to respond to questions.
