Elections Security Virtual Forum Oct. 29 to Feature Area Experts

The public is invited to "ask an expert" when they attend a virtual elections security forum this Thursday, Oct. 29. The event is being held to discuss voter concerns about the safety and conduct of the general election.

Panelists for the 7 p.m. event will include Polk Elections Supervisor Lori Edwards, Polk Sheriff's Department Chief of Staff Steve Lester, and voting rights expert Sam Coodley. JC Martin, chair of the Polk Republicans, and Dr. Kathie Sutherland, chair of the Polk Democrats, have been invited to participate on the panel as well.

From foreign actors to voter intimidation, a host of concerns have been raised about the current elections cycle. Our panelists will discuss each of them, offering their perspectives as to how they may best be confronted.

Florida BiPartisans CAG is a 55-year-old public advocacy group that conducts periodic forums and events on topics of particular interest. Audience members will have an opportunity to submit questions.

The forum will be hosted on a virtual event platform, and users may log on after 6:45 pm at https://ourvirtualevent.space/bipartisans-forum. There they will be able to view platform instructions before entering the event.
