William "Bill" Ferguson, 1945-2020

William D. “Bill” Ferguson, Jr., 74, of Lake Wales passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 at Advent Health Lake Wales.

He was born December 16, 1945 in Boston, MA to the late William and Helen Ferguson. He has been a resident of Lake Wales since 1997, moving from Chicago, IL. Bill was a retired truck driver. He served in the Army and the Air Force during Vietnam as a combat engineer. He was of the Christian faith. Bill was a life member of the VFW in in Woodbridge, VA and of the NRA. He was a very patriotic man, and all about his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Donna L. Ferguson in 2013; and sons, Michael Ferguson in 1971, and Michael Pelaquin in 2017. Survivors include his daughters, Diana Sobieski (David) and Tamara Antczak, both of Crown Point, IN; sons, William D. Ferguson, III of Lake Wales, and Mark Ferguson (Thomas Sokolowki) of Ft. Lauderdale; sister, Nancy Martinez (Roger) of Lake Wales; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. David Durham officiating. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
