Communication Builds Our Community
Attending the annual Easter Sunrise Service has been a tradition for generations; however, this year, viewers will be able to worship in new ways.
Bok Tower Gardens has made two viewing options available. First via Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/boktowergardens/ or second, the embedded virtual viewer on the Bok Tower Gardens website at https://boktowergardens.org/join-us-live/.
The service is also being recorded and uploaded later to the Bok Tower Gardens YouTube channel.
The service will begin at 7 am on Sunday morning. The viewing window will open a few minutes before the service starts.
Rev. Tim Nunez, Rector of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Lake Wales, will present his message entitled Christ Reveals Ultimate Meaning.
"The Easter message is fundamentally about hope, a real hope that is far beyond what we can see, feel or touch, and beyond the difficulties we are facing right now. Having the opportunity to share the good news of Christ is absolutely crucial right now," said Rev. Tim Nunez about his Easter message.
Geert D'hollander will perform sacred carillon music at the beginning and conclusion of the service.
"If we cannot get people to the Gardens, we have to get the music to the people," said Geert D'hollander when asked about the challenge of continuing the Easter Sunday tradition.
Crowds of more than 2000 worshippers gather on the Great Lawn each year. The Easter Sunrise Service is the longest-running event at Bok Tower Gardens, and for the first time, the service will be offered globally to digital audiences.
Closed until further notice, the Gardens is appreciative of any monetary support. To give online visit: https://boktowergardens.org/support-the-gardens
