James Henry “Jimmy” Bolden, Jr., 56, of Lake Wales passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Oct. 20, 1963 in Lake Wales to James Henry Bolden Sr. and Linda Gail (Willis). Jimmy was a firefighter and EMT for the City of Lake Wales for seven years before becoming a lineman for Florida Power and an engineer for Duke and Progress Energy.
Jimmy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales. He was a lifetime volunteer for the Polk County Youth Fair, serving as President for the past 11 years. Jimmy was also a coach for Little League, as well as a past member of the Little League Board. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Hurricane fan.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Bolden of Lake Wales; daughter, Jessica Proia (Bryan) of Babson Park; sons, Jared Bolden of Lake Wales, and Bobby Bolden of Lake Wales; mother, Linda Justice of Lake Wales; father, James Henry Bolden, Sr .; brother, Bill Bolden of Lake Wales; and grandchildren, Kiley, Jared, Weston, Kendal and Kenna.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12 at First Baptist Church Lake Wales with Dr. Scott Markley and Pastor Steve Livingston officiating. Internment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
