Polk Furniture Store Looking for New Owner

If you are are in the market for buying an existing business with plenty of goodwill and lots of potential look no further than Steve Seisel's Polk Furniture Store.

A bargain at $16,500 Steve says the store is so well known he never has to go out and search for inventory. People call him, often "two or three time a day," says Seisel.

"As far as I know I am the only consignment shop in Winter Haven."

While that may or not be totally accurate it doesn't matter because in my own experience finding a reputable and honest consignment store has been difficult at best, especially when it comes to large dining room or bedroom sets, tables, chairs and sofas.

But when I visit Polk Furniture I am always impressed with the quality and cleanliness. His secret is to buy or consign good clean merchandise from the start.

Going on 10 years in the same shopping center, Burns Industrial Complex on Burns Lane in East Winter Haven and easily seen traveling on Dundee Road, Seisel recalls he promised himself early on that this was a 10-year project.

After many years owning a used car dealership or working for other dealers in Polk County and Ohio, Seisel figured that being his own boss would be preferable to answering to someone else.

When asked what is included in the sales price Seisel is quick to say, "10 years of goodwill, 80% of his own merchandise (20% consigned), the name, phone number, box truck and the cheapest rent in the area."

When asked what he plans to do next Seisel says he "worked hard and now wants to buy a camper and see the country."

Whoever purchases Polk Furniture Store will find that Seisel will also provide help and support.

There isn't much he doesn't know about buying, selling and consigning, and he is always glad to share his knowledge.
