Woman's Club Kicks Off 10 Cents a Door Game to Benefit Operation Smile

Are you and your friends looking to have a great time for a great cause? Come join the General Federation of Women's Club (GFWC) Woman's Club of Lake Wales every 1st Thursday of the Month at 10:30 a.m. at 275 E Park Avenue, Lake Wales for an informative and meaningful gathering of women with the goal of bettering themselves and their community, as well as the lives of women and children locally and internationally. Lunch is available for a $5 donation.

Play the "Ten-Cents-A-Door Game" where the proceeds will benefit Operation Smile, an international Medical charity that has provided hundreds of thousands of free surgeries for children and young adults in developing countries who are born with cleft lip, cleft palate or other dental and facial conditions.

Count all the doors in your house and outside property and donate ten cents for every door, bring it to the Meeting, and fill up the Operation Smile Bank.

According to Operation Smile, every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate and many are unable to access the safe, effective surgical care they need due to shortage of surgeons, Medical infrastructure and affordability. A child's cleft lip or cleft palate can be repaired for as little as $240 and in as few as 45 minutes. Your participation will help bring much-needed surgeries and renewed hope to children and families around the world.

The GFWC Woman's Club of Lake Wales has pledged to provide $2,500 to the GFWC Florida President's Project of Operation Smile. So far the Club has provided 6 "Smiles" and our goal is 11 "Smiles."
