Garland Elizabeth Myers, 1919-2019

Garland Elizabeth Myers, 99, of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Brookdale of Winter Haven.

She was born October 26, 1919 in Dixon, IL to the late Ira and Mary G. (Krug) Utz. She has been a resident of the area since 2013. She was a retired executive secretary in the construction industry.

Garland enjoyed her work and was a Sunday School Teacher for Jr. High School aged kids with 3 generations of students. She also enjoyed traveling and organizing get togethers. She was a longtime member of the Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren in Denver, Colorado and she attended the South Lake Wales Church of God.

She is preceded in death by her husband Galen Quentin Myers; 2 brothers, Richard and Kenny Utz. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Weimer and husband Jerry of Lake Wales; 3 grandchildren, Kristen Griffin and husband Doug, Kevin Weimer and wife Aimee Joy, Kirk Weimer and wife Heidi.

Private family service and interment will be held in Denver, Colorado.
