Cornerstone Hospice Needs Volunteers in Variety of Helping Roles

Next Training Aug. 27

Cornerstone Hospice is looking for volunteers who would like to learn how to help others while helping themselves.

Cornerstone volunteers may visit patients at home or in a facility to offer friendly conversation and give family members a break to run errands. Volunteers also can help out in the office, walk patients' dogs or honor fellow veterans in Cornerstone's care.

Hours are flexible and volunteers can choose the areas they want to work throughout Polk County, including Lake Wales, Auburndale Winter Haven and Gibsonia. Bilingual volunteers are especially appreciated.

All Cornerstone Hospice volunteers participate in training classes. The next class will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 2140 East CR 540A in south Lakeland. Lunch and refreshments are provided.

Interested volunteers should register for training in advance by contacting Volunteer Specialist Pat Gruber at 863-291-5567 or emailing [email protected].
