Nurse Practitioner Serving Patients at New Medical Office

Lake Wales business leaders gathered at Shoppes on the Ridge Thursday, June 27 for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of a new office of the Heart of Florida Physician Group.

The primary caregiver at the office will be Lisa Peto, a family nurse practitioner. Peto provides in-office assessments, diagnosis and treatments of acute and chronic illnesses in patients of all ages, from infant through adult. Services include prevention and management of diabetes, COPD, high blood pressure and high cholesterol; upper respiratory infections; splinting and wound closure; urinary tract infections; and access incision and would drainage.

"I'm telling you you have a great resource in Lisa Peto and she has a wonderful staff and they work together like like peas and carrots. They really work well together," said Rebecca Brewer, CEO of Lake Wales Medical Center, which oversees the office.

Peto is a Lake Wales resident with close ties to the community. Her goal when caring for patients is "to make sure they have all the information and tools they need to make healthy choices that will benefit their lives."

As a primary care provider that treats the entire family, Ms. Peto hopes her caring attitude towards every patient shows. She believes it is important to relate to people and make a plan of care with their goals in mind.

Earning her credentials as an advanced practice registered nurse with a specialty in family practice, Peto received her registered nurse diploma from Fairview General Hospital School of Nursing and a master of science in nursing from Frontier Nursing University. She practices under the supervision of two physicians.

The office is located at 24165 U.S. 27 North. Regular hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment, call 844-634-DOCS (3627).
