Grads Attend Special Bash

High school seniors from Lake Wales and all over Florida gathered in early April for one fun and exciting night at Universal Studios.

The graduating seniors, who spent four years of their high school career working hard and studying, were able to relax and enjoy one night of fun and excitement with their peers.

It was interesting to watch old friends, who haven't seen each other for years, reunite for that extraordinary night. No one will forget the night of celebrating, the end of an era and the beginning of a new.

Lake Wales High School seniors A.J. Blunt, David Williams, Nic McDaniel, Timothy Anderson, Ali DesRoches, Kayla Martinson and Joab Collier gathered at Gringotts Bank in Hogsmeade, while enjoying each other's company and some delicious Butterbeer.

Here's what they had to say about the evening:

"Grad Bash was the highlight of my senior year. I got to spend time with my best friends of my high school career; riding rides and eating great food. It made me reflect exactly how much I'll miss high school and the amazing people I've met along the way." - Ali DesRoches

"Grad bash was the best time of my senior year. The fact that you and your friends can chill and hangout at one of the best theme parks at night was a dream come true. And it makes me sad that I'll be leaving high school with all the memories I'll be leaving behind." -A. J. Blunt

"Grad bash was a fun experience. However, I feel like it could've been a little better for everyone who went with me on Saturday. The rain really had us limited for a while. Overall though, I think it was a really fun experience. One I'll never forget." -Michael Herndon

The beginning of Grad Bash, originally called Grad Night, was spurred by concerns of teens drinking and driving on graduation night. To put an end to this, schools decided to put kids on buses and send them off to Disney World and other theme parks to hang out in a safe and alcohol-free environment.

Grad Bash was a valued experience for many of us. This was definitely one to remember. Congrats to the Class is 2019!
